Documentary Director / Cinematographer
About
My name is Jack Zakrajsek and I am a documentary filmmaker based in Colorado. My passion for storytelling has taken me from documenting conservation efforts in South Africa to working with brands in different corners of the world. But what truly sets me apart is my deep commitment to immersive storytelling.
I lived out of the back of a Toyota Tacoma for a month while creating my first feature-length documentary, “Tracing The Divide”, where two cyclists rode across the U.S., following their journey to self discovery. This experience taught me that the best stories come from fully living within them—something I carry into every project.
My drive to tell impactful stories has only grown. Recently, I’ve had the privilege to work on documentaries that dive into impact driven storytelling, including my work on a film in the Navajo Nation, where I truly witnessed the impact storytelling can offer. This is where my focus now lies—on impact documentaries that not only highlight critical issues but also challenge audiences to rethink their worldviews.

Tracing The Divide
Director / Producer
Two life-long friends embark on an adventure of a lifetime as they cycle the rigorous Great Divide Mountain Bike Route from Canada to Mexico. Over 24 days, through wind, mud, and monsoons, the Divide tests their limits physically and mentally, yet the Divide is also a gift that allows them to look inward and rediscover themselves with new purpose.
Filmmaker Jack Zakrajsek captures each cyclist’s struggles and successes while instilling a sense of majestic awe and cinematic beauty within the diverse spaces along the Great Divide.
